Estimated $180,000 byelection set for Burlington trustee seat at Halton District School Board
The last municipal election happened less than half a year ago, and voters are now being asked to go back to the polls.
A byelection for the seat of school board trustee for the Halton District School Board (HDSB) - Burlington, Wards 1 and 2, has been called and will take place between May 15 and 29. Eligible voters will be able to take part online from May 15 to May 19, in person at advance polls on May 24 and in person on election day on May 29.
The by election is the result of Matthew Diodati deciding to step down from the position, citing family and health concerns. Diodati was elected to the seat roughly five months earlier.
The projected cost of the byelection was given as $180,000 during a February board report on the matter.
