Winter weather travel advisory issued for Hamilton area
Drivers in Southern Ontario are being warned of the potential for suddenly deteriorating conditions Saturday afternoon.
Environment Canada issued a winter weather travel advisory for Hamilton, Halton, Niagara as well as Haldimand-Norfolk, warning of sudden near zero visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow" as well as up to five centimetres of accumulation.
More northern regions, including some areas of Wellington County were issued a snow squall warning.
The alert for the afternoon, March 18, was issued at noon by the national weather agency. It warns of bands of heavy snow" that developed in the late morning, as well as stong wind gusts.
Hazardous travel conditions are possible.
