The Kansas City Chiefs will be counting on Skyy Moore to take a big step in 2023 following the losses of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman in free agency.

"We are expecting Skyy Moore to step up," head coach Andy Reid told NFL Network's Steve Wyche on Saturday. "We'll just see how everything else works. We got the same guys coming back that we had, and we like that group with the exception of JuJu. Mecole was banged up a little bit so he didn't have a chance to play as much as he would have wanted. We'll work out the thing without JuJu. Somebody will have to step up and take that spot."

A second-round pick last season, Moore played just 29% of the Chiefs' offensive snaps and recorded 22 catches for 250 yards. His best performance came in a Week 11 win over the Los Angeles Chargers when he caught five passes for a personal best 63 yards.

Kansas City lost Smith-Schuster to the New England Patriots in free agency while Hardman signed with the New York Jets. Smith-Schuster's 78 receptions and 933 yards for the Chiefs only trailed star tight end Travis Kelce in 2022. Meanwhile, Hardman leaves after recording over 2,000 receiving yards across a four-year stint in Kansas City.

Moore projects to slide in behind Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Kadarius Toney in the team's receiver pecking order.
