Transport truck loses wheels on Highway 403 in Brantford
A 45-year-old man and a Woodstock-area business are facing multiple charges after a transport truck lost two wheels from its trailer on Highway 403 in Brant County.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to multiple calls around 9:30 a.m. March 24 after the tractor-trailer unit lost wheels on the highway near Wayne Gretzky Parkway. The wheels did not hit any other vehicles.
Luckily there were no injuries," OPP said on Twitter.
The driver was also issued a three-day driver's licence suspension for registering an alert on a roadside alcohol screening device. Drivers of commercial vehicles cannot have any alcohol in their systems.
The 45-year-old driver from Woodstock faces eight provincial offence charges, including driving a commercial motor vehicle with a major defect and wheel separation. The unnamed Woodstock business faces eight similar charges.
Both are scheduled to appear in court in Brantford at a later date.
