Given the organization's current status, everything looks messy - outages are increasing, ad revenues have been squeezed, and Twitter's pool of 7,500 genius employees has been significantly downsized.

After another round of job cuts, the company now houses a workforce of only 2000, which happened within five months.

According to Elon Musk, he overpaid for the platform to help humanity. He was pretty optimistic that he would make Twitter better in the future.

Now, debaters are questioning how someone can save Twitter and the entire community when he is extremely busy employing a team of 80 engineers to tweak the algorithm and make his tweets more visible than those of the US President.

Elon's responsibility has been questioned further for his tendency to spout unfounded claims to his 128 million followers and use the platform as a primary channel for personal gain. Critics are also suspicious of his willingness to allow free, unbiased speech on the platform.

How Things Changed

However, the scenario was not the same even five months back. People used to leverage Twitter to share views, run ads, and conduct other business and marketing-related activities. Sensible debates hardly harmed the platform's healthy and bias-free environment.

The platform used to be powered by a substantial wealth of knowledge which any user could explore.

In fact, the platform became a go-to source for journalists as it allowed them to earwig the conversation between famous and interesting people. Everything could be done without the interference of message-filtering middlemen.

While Twitter was never meant to be a highly curated social media like Instagram, it was indeed a place to experience the thrill of sharing ungarnished, raw, and sometimes bruising opinions.

Everything could be discussed in the form of threads, from the latest in the tech world to NASA's revolutionary discoveries. People could even slide into someone's DM's and enhance their network. The platform was more like an information network later equipped with social elements. In addition, it was an unofficial dating app - countless people have found their best match through Twitter encounters.

Twitter Is Not Free" Anymore

The fascinating factor was everything was absolutely free. However, it seems that Musk wanted to bring a big twist to the story. So, he removed the free tag' from Twitter. Besides his irrational activities like scaring away celebs, bullying reporters, and cutting down the expertise, Musk has attempted to make Twitter valuable otherwise.

He fueled an information vacuum that is seemingly helping the opposite environment to thrive - spammers have started liking the platform, and poorly talented figures now find it appropriate.

Given Musk's eligibility, it is a little challenging to hold him as a clueless idiot, but these actions are being labeled as deliberate sabotage.

Whatever the matter, the summary remains the same - Twitter craves oxygen. The value it produces is gradually becoming extinct, and the platform is eventually turning into a medium of thriving toxicity and nazism.
