Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan believes that his team has finally found the winning formula.

"The vibe I get is that, you know, I think we've cracked the code," Khan recently told team reporter John Oehser.

He added, "We've got a great head coach, we got a great general manager, and we have a great quarterback. And that's the trifecta for success in the NFL."

In their first year under head coach Doug Pederson last season, the Trevor Lawrence-led Jaguars posted a 9-8 record en route to winning the AFC South and reaching the playoffs for the first time since the 2017 campaign. Jacksonville staged the third-largest comeback in NFL postseason history to edge the Los Angeles Chargers in the wild-card round before suffering a divisional-round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

It was only the team's second playoff appearance since Khan bought the franchise in 2012. The Jaguars played in the AFC title game five years ago but posted a 15-50 record in the following four seasons combined.

"It's taken a while, but I'm glad it's happening," Khan said. "I'm glad for me. I'm glad for all the fans."

Jacksonville drafted first overall in each of the last two years. The team currently rosters nine former first-round picks, including Lawrence, who earned his first career Pro Bowl nod in 2022.

The Jaguars haven't had back-to-back winning seasons since 2004-05.
