The Tennessee Titans and star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons agreed to a four-year, $94-million contract extension, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Simmons' new deal will guarantee him $66 million, adds Rapoport.

This makes Simmons the second-highest-paid defensive tackle in the NFL, only behind Aaron Donald.

Simmons appeared to confirm the news on social media.

The 25-year-old was set to play under the fifth-year option with a $10.75-million cap hit, according to Over The Cap.

Titans general manager Ran Carthon cleared cap space this offseason by releasing veterans Robert Woods, Taylor Lewan, and Bud Dupree.

The Mississippi State product was a first-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft and has spent his entire four-year career in Tennessee, twice earning Pro Bowl honors.

Simmons has 189 total tackles, including 21 sacks and 28 tackles for loss, in 56 career games.
