Features Situated near Gore Park and a short walk from James Street North, this two-storey penthouse is one of the most expensive condominiums listed on the local real estate market.

The unit is located in the Residences of Royal Connaught, the current name of the previously abandoned hotel whose revival and conversion to residential spaces began in 2015.

With two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms, the unit could be ideal for retirees or a young, professional couple, said Carol Robson, a broker with Keller Williams Realty.

A small family could also call the unit home, however, Robson noted few residents in the building have children.

The main floor of the home features an open-concept kitchen, a powder room as well as the primary bedroom and a den. That bedroom also has an ensuite bathroom and access to one of two balconies.

On the second floor, there is another bedroom, a full bathroom and a walk-in closet. The bedroom looks over the main living area.

Robson said with the unit boasting more than 1,400 square feet of living space and floor-to-ceiling windows that are close to 20 feet tall, the penthouse offers a real feeling of spaciousness."

She added that the unit has been finished with hardwood flooring, ceramic tiling, granite countertops and upgraded appliances.

It's modern, but traditional," said Robson, noting that the unit was previously used as a model suite and has never been lived in. It's move-in ready."

Within the building, residents have access to a fitness room, party room and theatre room as well as a communal rooftop patio that offers views of the city, barbecues and fireplaces.

Why is it priced this way? Robson said the unit was priced per square foot and includes both a parking space and storage locker. The condo fees are $601.22 a month.

A lower penthouse in the building sold for $695,000 this past December, according to HouseSigma, a real estate data collection service.
