Samsung Launches “Samsung News” for Galaxy Users; Includes Custom Feeds & Briefings
Samsung is launching its very own news app- Samsung News". The app is expected to collate news from multiple newspapers and publications to create one central platform for Galaxy users to look up daily events.
Popular publications that have already partnered with Samsung include CNN, Huffington Post, Fox News, Reuters, USA Today, New York Post, etc. More publications will be added to the app over time, depending on user needs and their response to this app.
According to reports, the app will be first rolled out in beta mode and offered to customers in the US alone. This news app is expected to replace Samsungs previous news app- Samsung Free, which offered a quick glimpse into current affairs along with daily morning and evening briefings.
Those who already have the Samsung Free app won't have to go through the trouble of downloading Samsung News separately. Starting April 18, the icon of the news app will automatically change to that of Samsung News.
For the rest of the Galaxy users, the app will be available for download in the Samsung Galaxy Store. Initially, the features will only be available on selected models. However, Samsung has assured that it'd soon reach out to all devices.
What's Inside The Samsung News App?The Samsungs News app provides three ways to check up on the important events of the day- Daily Briefings, News Feeds, and podcasts.
The daily briefings will be offered twice a day- once in the morning and then later in the evening. Expert editors of the company will come together to create a summary of all the important headlines of the day.
You can check everything important happening at a glance without having to read through the entire feed.
For those who like having access to all kinds of news, important or not, Samsung offers a news feed. Here you'll find updates from all publications that have partnered with Samsung. What's more, Samsung lets you create a customized feed based on your preferences. All that you have to do is visit the Following" tab and select the topics you want to read about.
The last and the most unique way Samsung offers current news to its customers is through podcasts. If you find reading news boring, you'll be able to listen to your favorite news and entertainment podcasts all day long.

The truth is Samsung Free was never that popular among users. In fact, a lot of users resorted to Google News for their daily dose of headlines.
However, with its interface and features, Samsung News is more equipped to compete with popular alternatives such as Apple News and Google News.
