Stripped pistol grip threads on ar15 lower receiver

So ill start by saying this is my first ar build/ build in general, I was attempting to attach my pistol grip and I tightened it down pretty good or so I thought and I wiggled it a little to check if it was on good and in the process ended up bending the safety spring and messing up the threads for the pistol grip screw. It's only the beginning of the threads that are messed up the rest of the way down the hole looks fine, anyways I guess my question is how difficult of a fix would this be and if someone could give me some tips so I can avoid more problems like this in the future.
