Police are looking for an Uber driver who allegedly sexually assaulted a female passenger, then used her phone to give himself a tip and a positive review while driving her in Vaughan on Sunday.

York regional police say the incident happened in the early morning. The Uber driver picked up a customer in a white 2021 Toyota Corolla near the area of Yonge Street and Eglinton Road in Toronto to transport her to Vaughan.

Police say that the driver pulled over into a parking lot around the intersection of Rutherford Road and Weston Road in Vaughan and allegedly sexually assaulted the woman. According to police, he then proceeded to take her phone, concluded the rideshare trip and gave himself a five-star review and a tip.

The victim, a 26-year-old woman, was not physically harmed in this incident, said police.

Police are looking for Vikram Lather, 53, from Brampton, and once in custody will charge him with one count of sexual assault and one count of fraud under $5,000.

He's urged to contact a lawyer and turn himself in to police, says investigators.

Police believe there may be other victims who have not yet contacted them, and encourage anyone with information to come forward.
