Woman, 72, reports being forced to the ground and sexually assaulted in Kitchener park
KITCHENER - Police are investigating after a 72-year-old woman reports she was forced to the ground and sexually assaulted in a Kitchener park on Wednesday.
Waterloo Regional Police were called to McLennan Park near Strasburg Road and Ottawa Street South at around 6:30 p.m.
The woman was walking on a trail in the park when a man approached her, forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her, police said.
The woman did not report any physical injuries.
The man is described as white, possibly in his late 20s, standing around six feet tall with a thin build.
He was wearing dark-grey jogging pants, a light-grey T-shirt, white running shoes, a dark baseball cap, glasses and was holding a royal-blue jacket.
The major crime unit is investigating.
