Hamilton police probe reports of two overnight shootings

Hamilton police are investigating reports of early morning shots fired on both Saturday and Sunday.

Police said in a release the first reported shooting occurred after 1 a.m. in the area of Kenilworth Avenue and Barton Street East in the lower city.

The second report of gunshots came just after midnight Sunday on the Mountain, in the area of Crockett Street and East 34th Street.

Investigators are so far not aware of any victims or injuries associated with either shooting.

Police are seeking neighbourhood surveillance footage, including from dashcams, from both neighbourhoods in that early morning time frame.
