Attempted carjacking in Oakville sees guns pulled on woman in Range Rover SUV, police allege
Halton police are looking for two suspects following an attempted carjacking, which reportedly occurred in Oakville on Saturday, May 6.
At around 11:45 p.m., a woman was driving her 2023 Range Rover westbound on Hwy. 407 when she noticed a light-coloured SUV following her, police said.
The victim exited Hwy. 407 at Neyagawa Boulevard and stopped her vehicle in the area of Wisteria Way and Violet Gardens.
The suspects managed to follow the Range Rover and stopped their vehicle nearby.
It's alleged two men got out of their SUV, approached the victim's car armed with handguns and demanded she get out of the vehicle. The woman left her vehicle and ran to a nearby residence.
According to police, the suspects then got into her Range Rover, but soon realized the woman had taken the vehicle's key fob with her. At this point the two men returned to their vehicle and fled the area empty-handed.
No one was injured during this incident and no detailed suspect descriptions are available.
