Roma Bakery looks to try something new — is it cheese?
Some things never change - night follows day, hot air rises, Roma's slab pizzas are cheeseless. But the 71-year-old Hamilton bakery has decided to shake things up a little.
For decades, Hamiltonians could find Roma pizzas at grocers around the city, as well as baked goods, deli, and more recently, a hot table with other home-cooked" eats at the Barton Street location in Stoney Creek.
Earlier this month, Roma announced a side project, Sorella.
Looking beyond the iconic slab, the bakery has created a sister brand" to elevate our staple products in new and innovative ways," according to a May 2 Instagram post.
In the post, Sorella announced the premier pop-up event at Trocadero Restaurant on Barton Street. Tickets for a five-course progressive tasting meal" on June 17 were selling for $125 per person.
However, those wondering if Sorella is serving pizzas with cheese will have to wait - the 30-seat event quickly sold out.
