Hamilton police search for man after reports of assault with knife
Hamilton police are asking the public for help finding a suspect wanted in connection with an assault at an encampment near city hall.
Police were called to the area of Hunter Street West and MacNab Street South, behind Whitehern Historic House and Gardens, around 5:15 p.m. Thursday for reports of a disturbance involving a man with a knife.
A woman was located at the scene with what appeared to be minor injuries caused by an edged weapon, police said in a release.
Police are asking residents, businesses and anyone with dashboard cameras to review their footage from between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Investigators are searching for a male suspect who is around six feet tall, with wavy shoulder-length hair and a black goatee. Police add that the suspect would have been wearing a blue T-shirt and tan pants.
