Rishi Sunak's change of government targets on immigration has prompted discontent among restless Tory backbenchers, with some now seeking a meeting with the home secretary, Suella Braverman.
It comes after the prime minister set a new goal of bringing migration down below the level he inherited", which was about 500,000 net arrivals a year when he took office.
