The clock is ticking away on a winning lottery ticket valued at millions of dollars as the expiry date looms near for the lucky winner to claim their jackpot.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation said Tuesday in a news release the unclaimed $70 million LOTTO MAX ticket was sold on June 28, 2022. Billing it a rare occurrence in Canadian lottery history," the OLG added that the winning ticket is set to expire on June 28, 2023.

If this ... ticket expires, the $70 million prize will be returned to players through future bonus games or promotions," the corporation added.

The ticket was purchased at an authorized lottery retailer in Scarborough, OLG said, adding it has very detailed information about this winning ticket. However, as the ticket was purchased at a lottery retailer, we don't know the identity of the person or group that purchased the ticket."

The winning numbers for the June 28, 2022 LOTTO MAX draw were as follows: 8, 19, 22, 41, 42, 46, 47 with a Bonus 10.

We ask OLG lottery players to check places where they usually store their tickets, such as in clothing pockets, personal accessories (i.e. handbags, backpacks, wallets, computer bags), your vehicle's glove compartments or sun-visors, kitchen, bedroom or office drawers," the corporation said.

The lottery corporation is asking the winner to contact them at 1-800-387-0098.
