Koi comeback — Hess Village sushi bar rebrands as seafood house
A classic Hess Village hangout is reopening and rebranding.
Koi Seafood House, formerly part of the sushi bar/steak house restaurant/nightclub combo Sizzle Koi, is being billed as an an upscale seafood dining destination."
Co-owners Ken Collett and Boris Gospavic partnered with Sam Girgis, the chef of former Locke Street Greek eatery Souvlocke, who is bringing experience and talent" to the kitchen, they said in a media release.
The business will continue offering late night weekend hours, adding dinner service Wednesday to Sunday.
Offerings on the menu include market price lobster, a tin of imported Russian calviar for $125, briny oyster delights - $41 for a dozen - and some non seafood and vegan options, too.
Koi reopened May 26 at 27 Hess St. S.
