Oakville man, 22, charged in mall attack that leaves older man in hospital with significant injuries
Halton Regional Police Service have charged a 22-year-old Oakville man in connection with an incident at an Oakville mall that left a 75-year-old man hospitalized.
The younger man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, Halton police said Wednesday (June 21).
The older man in this occurrence remains in stable, but serious condition in hospital.
On Monday, June 19, at around 1:45 p.m., police were called to South Oakville Centre, formerly known as Hopedale Mall, where they found a 75-year-old man with significant injuries to his head.
Police said the man was working as a security guard at the mall and got into an altercation with another man in the north section of the parking lot.
The 75-year-old was taken to hospital and remains in serious condition," police said in a news release Tuesday, June 20.
