Odd wifi problem

Slack 15.0; kernel 5.15.63 - huge
Slackware can see the various wifi networks in range.
I can see the slackware machine on a site survey from the desired router.
No difficulty connecting from my phone or other desktops.
Can't get it to authenticate and connect to either available router/net.
Passwords are correct.
All using WPA2, or at least so says Network Manager
I've tried both command line solutions and fussing with the GUI; no dice.
Any thoughts on where to look next. It has a wired connection, its just frustrating not being able to do something that ought to be child-level simple.
