Owen Sound is waiving a nominal fee and allowing River District businesses to set up shop on the sidewalk during a one-year trial from July 1 to Oct. 31. Council approved a recommendation at its meeting Monday to help animate the River District and allow businesses to place merchandise on the sidewalk, as long as they comply with city guidelines to ensure proper placement and pedestrian pathways.
