kernel does not load nouveau driver, 800x600 resolution and no external monitor
by etcetera from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6CMQ8)
I have 4 different kernels in /boot.
5.15-101.103.2.1 which boots ok, sees correct resolution and external monitor. So do a few 5.14* kernels.
But the latest kernel 5.15.0.102.110.5.1 does not load the nouveau driver, resulting in the external monitors not visible and the primary monitor only displaying 800x600.
I want to roll back to nouveau driver, the nvidia install just can' be done. I've had no progress with it. I deleted the nouveau drivers and now it can't find them. Although again it affects just one kernel.
Running lspci -k I see that the nouveau driver is not loaded into the semi-working 110.5.1 kernel. How do I build it into the kernel?
