How do I restore a Btrfs snapshot?
by lucmove from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6CNN4)
I've had snapshots for a few days for the root / directory. The service has been running since then and snapshotting faithfully.
Well, I seem to have damaged something today because some apps keep complaining about a missing library. I admit I probably deleted it by mistake. I reinstalled it and the apps still don't work. Something seems to be messed up.
Looks like a good opportunity to test snapper. But I've been reading documents and instructions and tutorials and wow, they all keep saying "this is not recommended" all the time. Apparently, I can do this, but "this is not recommended." Or I can do that, but "this is not recommended." There is also this other thing, but of course "this is not recommended." I don't even know what I CAN do anymore.
So considering this is / I am talking about, what procedure do you recommend?
