Ubuntu cloud server do-release-update via ssh
by Pedroski from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6CTG4)
I have a little cloud server for school stuff.
I wanted to upgrade to the latest Ubuntu Server version now the holidays have started.
I get this message after starting do-release-upgrade:
Quote:
I have no idea how I should connect to the server if not by ssh!
I can't actually go to the company, wherever that may be, and sit at their computer to do this.
How should I proceed?
I actually don't have any data that I couldn't lose if there is a problem, because everything I have is done first on this laptop, then, when it works I upload it.
There is no data in the database that I really need, it is all just old classwork or homework answers, already marked.

Reading cache Checking package manager Continue running under SSH? This session appears to be running under ssh. It is not recommended to perform a upgrade over ssh currently because in case of failure it is harder to recover. If you continue, an additional ssh daemon will be started at port '1022'. Do you want to continue? Continue [yN] |
