Star quarterback Joe Burrow is among those who are looking forward to the next chapter in the budding rivalry between the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs.

"The best thing about that is it's all settled on the field," Burrow told Complex Sports' Kameron Hay. "So we'll see them in December."

The Bengals and Chiefs met in the last two AFC title games. Cincinnati earned a berth in Super Bowl LVI with a win in the 2021 postseason meeting. However, it was Kansas City that captured the AFC crown last year before going on to beat the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.

Bengals wideout Ja'Marr Chase fanned the flames after naming Burrow as the top passer in the NFL. The 26-year-old Burrow put Mahomes ahead of himself in the rankings. It led to Chase saying "Pat who?" when asked about the reigning MVP.

The LSU product has led the Bengals to a 3-1 record against Mahomes and Kansas City, including postseason matchups.

While the Bengals have been unable to claim a Super Bowl title, Burrow doesn't feel the club is far from getting over the hump.

"I think we've put a great plan together the last couple of years, now we just have to finish it off," he said.

The 2020 No. 1 overall pick has elevated the Bengals into consistent title contenders following an injured-shortened rookie campaign. Burrow worked his way back to lead Cincinnati to the franchise's third-ever Super Bowl appearance. The Bengals posted a 12-4 record with Burrow passing for 4,475 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions with a 100.8 passer rating.

Cincinnati is working towards signing Burrow to a long-term extension this offseason. The Bengals picked up the fifth-year option in Burrow's rookie deal in April, which will keep him under contract through the 2024 season.

The next chapter of the budding rivalry is set to take place in Week 17 when the Bengals return to Arrowhead Stadium to face the Chiefs on New Year's Eve.
