I attempted to install nvidia drivers ...
by Ishiki from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6D6KS)
I attempted to follow this guide: https://phoenixnap.com/kb/fedora-nvidia-drivers
It first went well everything seemed to work out but then I got to this part:
Step 6: Install Nvidia Drivers
Once the system restarts, log in as the administrator.
Start the installation process by using:
sudo bash [path to the Nvidia installer package]
When prompted, select Yes to register the kernel module with DKMS...
Select Yes to install Nvidia's 32-bit compatibility libraries:
Select Yes to allow automatic Xorg backup... <----------------- at this point my screen goes black and I dont have any image anymore
Step 7: Enable GUI
Enable the GUI login to start up the new Nvidia drivers and bring back the option of using a GUI like GNOME:
systemctl set-default graphical.target
Reboot your system to finish the installation
I tried this 2 times, the first time I was able to complete all steps but few popups didn't show up and after my reboot it was still in the text only mode, I then redone the process and since then it behaves the way I described
