Bears adding Ngakoue on 1-year, $10.5M deal
The Chicago Bears are signing free-agent pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue to a one-year, $10.5-million deal that includes $10 million guaranteed, his agent Drew Rosenhaus confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Ngakoue will bolster a Bears pass rush that struggled mightily in 2022. Chicago recorded a league-worst 20 total sacks in 2020 with safety Jaquan Brisker's four sacks being a team high.

Bears defensive ends in 2022: 6.5 sacks
A former Pro Bowler, Ngakoue has been one of the NFL's most consistent pass-rushers since entering the league in 2016. He's notched at least eight sacks in each of his seven years.
Chicago will be Ngakoue's fifth stop since 2020. The 28-year-old has played for the Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens, Las Vegas Raiders, and Indianapolis Colts over the last three seasons. He spent last season with the Colts and tallied 9.5 sacks.
Ngakoue is the latest addition to a revamped Bears defense that also brought in linebackers Tremaine Edmunds and T.J. Edwards, among others, in free agency.
