Use Android phone as keyboard for 32bit server?

The play store is so hard to navigate these days. So hard to find anything.
I tried Unified Remote, but it crashes when tying fast.
I want to control my media server from my Android phone. I could do this over ssh with xmcontrol, but it would surely be slow for typing, unless there's a way to capture the keyboard and instantly issue commands?
