Current Kernel - Blank Screen Boot - Then Large Fonts?
by SlackIT from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6DZGG)
Hi,
I'm running 15, and I compiled installed gcc 13.2.0 for the slack -current kernel 6.1.46
I'm using config-huge-6.1.46.x64 from here;
https://mirrors.slackware.com/slackw...ernel-configs/
I've always compiled my own kernels, stripped down, but this time I wanted to just try a default Slack kernel.
At the grub prompt, when I hit enter, the screen would go blank for 3-4 seconds, then the text/console appeared and the font was larger than my kernel's font.
I went back in the default config-huge-6.1.46.x64 settings and made all the graphics and framebuffer settigs the same as my kernel, but when I booted it up again, the same thing, blank screen for a few seconds and the bigger font.
I don't get this, it seems like a framebuffer issue? So if it is, then why, after I made all the graphics and framebuffer sections the same it's still doing this?
I'm running an nvidia card, I use the nvidia drivers and I don't have the nouveau drivers installed.
Any help, is greatly appreciated!
THANKS
