Good gravy how do you configure vsftpd?

I installed vsftpd to my Debian 12 box and tested basic functionality with no problem.

Here's the fun part....... I've having extreme difficulty trying to fine tune it though. After several hours, I threw in the towel and here I am. What I have is a folder.... lets say it's /mnt/md0/ftp. Inside /ftp I have /mnt/md0/ftp/1, /mnt/md0/ftp/2 and /mnt/md0/ftp/3.

I want to allow either anonymous access (or a created user account) to be able to get into any of those 3 folders but not escape /mnt/md0/ftp. (I don't want whoever is logged in to be able to access /mnt/md0/other_stuff or /mnt/md0/.)

I think I got every error that vsftpd was capable of generating while trying to achieve my goal.

Maybe vsftpd just isn't capable of doing this?!

If you have a vsftpd set up to serve files from a folder that has sub-folders... and users can't escape out to the parent directory, would you mind posting your .conf file or can you type up some super detailed instructions on how I can do this?

Thanks
