Slackpkg package removal and file deletion after error
by rwyarbrough from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6E6QF)
I recently ran into a weird situation where "ln" and "rm" were failing due to a "perceived" no permissions error within the shell during a slackpkg update (as root). I broke out of the update after a few packages so I could fix the issue. I rebooted the system and that fixed the strange permission issue.
I reinitiated "slackpkg upgrade-all" again and all went fine.
I did a "slackpkg reinstall slackware64" to insure that everything was installed correctly and all of the symbolic links were processed from the doinst processes.
Here is my question: for the packages that were processed before I could break out of slackpkg, how do I delete the unneeded files that are deleted as a part of the upgrade? Is there some process or command within slackpkg that will ensure that obsolete and previous version files are removed?
