Stafford: 'Not too worried about' wife's comments on Rams

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford addressed his wife's recent comments, saying Wednesday he's had no trouble connecting with his younger teammates.

Stafford's wife, Kelly, recently said on an episode of her podcast that the 35-year-old passer was having difficulty jelling with his young teammates. She said Matthew told her, "I feel like I can't connect." Kelly later expressed regret, saying, "I put my foot in my mouth."

Matthew, who's entering his 15th NFL season, downplayed the situation.

"I love coming to work. I love working with these guys. And they all know that," he said Wednesday, according to ESPN's Sarah Barshop.

Stafford added: "I think those guys understand where I'm coming from. They see me come in this building every single day and know how I go to work, know how I interact with everybody, and we didn't really think too much about it, to be honest with you."

The veteran said he didn't have to address Kelly's comments in the locker room.

"I'm not too worried about it," the signal-caller said. "Nobody in the locker room's too worried about it, I can promise you that. We've completely moved on. Not that we've ever really stopped to think about it."

Stafford, Aaron Donald, and Cooper Kupp are among five players over 30 on the Rams, who boast one of the league's youngest rosters. Los Angeles' initial 53-man roster this year featured 14 rookies, including fifth-round wide receiver Puka Nacua and tight end Davis Allen.

Kupp has been ruled out for L.A.'s opener against the Seattle Seahawks due to a hamstring injury.
