Chiefs' Kelce, Jones to return in Week 2 vs. Jaguars

The Kansas City Chiefs are welcoming back two of their biggest stars in Week 2.
Tight end Travis Kelce and defensive lineman Chris Jones are expected to play Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, head coach Andy Reid announced.
"As long as nothing happens, they'll be out there," Reid said Friday, according to Pete Sweeney of Arrowhead Pride.
The tight end was officially listed as questionable. Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire was also given the questionable tag after failing to practice Friday due to an illness.
Kelce missed Kansas City's Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions with a knee injury, while Jones was sidelined due to his contract situation. The All-Pro defender ended his holdout and signed an incentive-laden contract Monday. Jones finished third for Defensive Player of the Year after racking up a career-high 15.5 sacks and 29 QB hits in 2022.
Widely considered football's best tight end, Kelce hyperextended his knee before the season opener. He was a limited participant at practice Wednesday and Thursday this week. The 33-year-old set career highs with 110 receptions and 12 touchdowns last campaign. He also caught 1,338 yards en route to earning the fourth first-team All-Pro berth of his career.
Kelce provided an injury update of his own Friday, jokingly reaching for his leg in pain at practice.

The Chiefs receivers struggled with drops in Week 1. K.C. also had a hard time moving the ball, finishing the game with only 17 first downs. Marquez Valdes-Scantling led Kansas City despite recording 48 receiving yards on two receptions versus the Lions. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes paced the team with 45 yards on the ground.
