Report: Browns' Cooper unlikely to play MNF after aggravating groin injury

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper is unlikely to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Browns listed Cooper as questionable on Saturday due to a groin injury.

"Aggravated his groin," head coach Kevin Stefanski said Saturday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com. "We brought him inside. We'll evaluate him over the next 48 hours."

Cooper had core muscle surgery in the offseason. The 29-year-old sat out Thursday's practice on a regular day of veteran rest but was a full participant at Friday's session.

A four-time Pro Bowler, Cooper caught three passes for 37 yards in Cleveland's Week 1 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. He led the Browns with 1,160 receiving yards and nine TD catches in 2022 after joining the team in a trade from the Dallas Cowboys.

Cleveland's wide receiver depth chart also features Elijah Moore - who amassed a team-high 43 receiving yards in Week 1 - Donovan Peoples-Jones, and third-round rookie Cedric Tillman, among others.
