wireplumber complains instead of installing cleanly
by selfprogrammed from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6ETJG)
I installed the Slackbuild for wireplumber on a system which had PulseAudio and Pipewire packages installed from the Slackware distribution.
Pipewire was enabled.
Wireplumber complained that the pipewire session daemon was running and refused to start.
I tried a few times to kill and/or disable that daemon, but it would just be restarted. And, wireplumber would not be started.
Rebooting did not help.
I saw the wireplumber /etc/xdg/autostart, but apparently those are not enough by themselves.
Question 1:
Is there a magic incantation, or a slackware script to be run to enable the wireplumber control, and disable the stock control daemon ?
Question 2:
What will wireplumber give me that is worth the trouble ?
Can you Please be Specific, as I have become somewhat unimpressed by generic it-is-great -isms, hand-waving, and fact starved advertising blurbs.
Question 3:
Are the new versions of Pipewire supplying better interfaces that make wireplumber less of an improvement ?
For the time being, I have removed the wireplumber package.
