Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs is expected to miss the rest of the season after tearing his ACL during Thursday's practice, the team announced, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

The two-time Pro Bowler left the Cowboys' facility on crutches before undergoing an MRI that confirmed the injury.

Diggs reacted on social media, saying he'll be "back and better."

Thank you for all the prayers and I appreciate everyone for checking on me!
This is just God's Plan. I will be back and better!

Diggs' injury is a massive blow for the Cowboys, who have won both of their games to start the season while outscoring their opponents by an NFL-best margin of 70-10.

He formed one of the league's premier defensive back tandems alongside former Defensive Player of the Year Stephon Gilmore. Dallas' cornerback depth chart also features slot corner DaRon Bland, Noah Igbinoghene, and Jourdan Lewis, among others.

With Diggs sidelined, Dallas plans to move Bland outside opposite Gilmore and have Lewis lined up in the slot, a source told Jane Slater of NFL Network.

The 25-year-old Diggs is one of the premier playmakers at his position. He was named a first-team All-Pro in 2021 after snagging a league-high 11 interceptions. He recorded his first pick of the season in Dallas' Week 2 win over the New York Jets.

The Cowboys rewarded Diggs with a five-year, $97-million extension in July.

Multiple players publicly showed support for Diggs, including Cowboys safety Jayron Kearse.

Best cornerback in the league to start this year. We gone go step for Tre, don't think this shit gone stop at all!!

Prayers for my lil brudda Tre day!
