Report: Saints' Carr sprained AC joint, avoided serious injury
New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr is believed to have suffered an AC joint sprain during Sunday's 18-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Carr could miss time, but the injury seems to be less serious than originally expected, Rapoport adds. When he plays will come down to swelling and mobility of the shoulder.
The veteran went down on his shoulder after taking a hit in the third quarter but was able to walk off the field under his own power. He spent time in the locker room before being ruled out.
X-rays taken at Lambeau Field revealed no additional damage, but Carr was taken to a local hospital to run more tests, according to Rapoport.

Carr completed 13 of 18 pass attempts for 103 yards and one touchdown before being replaced by Jameis Winston with New Orleans leading 17-0. With Winston under center, the Saints were outscored 18-0 in the fourth quarter. The backup completed 10 of 16 passes for 101 yards with no touchdowns.
Carr helped the Saints start the season 2-0. New Orleans also boasts a premier defense that hasn't allowed more than 20 points in its last 11 contests.
The four-time Pro Bowler signed a four-year deal with New Orleans this offseason after spending nine campaigns with the Las Vegas Raiders.
