Dynamically Changing Gnome Terminal Opacity
by It'sJoeyG from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6F1H3)
Hello all!
I have just started daily driving Linux (started daily driving in July 2023 on my laptop) and I have been loving the customization the Gnome desktop environment provides.
However, as I was customizing my terminal with different color themes and all, I was wondering if I could dynamically change the opacity of the background such that when Gnome Terminal detects that it is on top of another program, it changes the opacity to X%, otherwise turn off opacity.
I tried a fair bit of googling but couldn't find anything besides simply adjusting the opacity of the terminal.
I am using Fedora 38 with Gnome Terminal (and DE) and Wayland, if that helps :D
