eth0 Probing Address - Really Slow!

I'm running Slack 15, I only have Openbox installed and I don't use the Network Manager, I only use the network scripts in Slack.

When the computer boots up, everytime it comes to eth0 probing the address, the console stops, typically for 3-5 seconds.

Is there anything I can do to make this probe go faster?
