Need Help Remapping Key to Access BIOS on Dell Vostro 3300 with Disabled USB Ports and Broken Keyboard
by pegger from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6FCQB)
Hello,
I have a Dell Vostro 3300 laptop with disabled USB ports and a broken built-in keyboard. I'm facing a challenge accessing the BIOS setup utility due to these issues. I've tried various methods to enter the BIOS, but with no success.
My goal is to remap a specific key (e.g.,Hardware keys 'Play/Pause' located next too the power button ) to simulate pressing 'F2', 'up arrow','down arrow' & 'Enter' during the boot process, allowing me to access the BIOS settings. I understand that this is a complex and advanced task, but I'm determined to make it work.
If anyone has experience with low-level system modifications, kernel programming, or a similar situation, I would greatly appreciate any guidance or assistance in achieving this goal.
Thank you for your time and expertise.
Best regards,
