Transport minister says e-scooter riders equally culpable' as other road users as he introduces new laws to parliament
E-scooter riders in Queensland will be forced to remain at the scene of an accident and could face fines of more than $6,000 for dangerous behaviour under new laws governing the use of the devices on footpaths and bike paths.
The transport and roads minister, Mark Bailey, introduced the new legislation to parliament on Thursday, saying it was only fair that e-scooter riders face the same post-crash responsibilities as drivers and cyclists, whether on a road or a path.
