Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams is dealing with an ankle sprain that's expected to sideline him from the Week 7 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

However, an MRI revealed the injury isn't a long-term issue, Schefter adds.

The Rams' running back group will still take a significant hit, though. Backup Ronnie Rivers is expected to miss four-to-five weeks with a Grade 3 PCL sprain and is likely headed for injured reserve, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Williams leads the Rams with 456 yards rushing and six touchdowns. The 2022 fifth-round pick was injured late in Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals after producing a career-high 156 yards on the ground.

Meanwhile, Rivers has been used sparingly by L.A., earning 57 yards on 13 carries this season.

Zach Evans is the other running back on the Rams' active roster, while Royce Freeman is on the practice squad.
