New xfinity xfi gateway wrecks internet browsing
by walterbyrd from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6FQCJ)
RHEL 8.5. I have tried chrome, firefox, and lynx. Same issues.
Direct connection from RHEL box to gateway.
Windows laptops using DHCP and WiFi are not having problems. Android phones are not having trouble.
Everything worked with old gateway.
1. Cannot browse into gateway with linux box. Default IPv4 address for gateway was 10.0.0.1. Could not browse with linux, other platforms worked.
2. Using a windows laptop, I got into gateway, and changed IPv4 to 192.168.1.1. This is what is was with the old gateway. My linux static IPv4 is 192.168.1.9. This was no problem before. I am sure the new address took. I can ping the gateway and so on. I ran nmap. When I try to log in, I get a "cannot be reached" error. One of my windows laptops also gets the error, the other does not.
3. Aside from not being able to log into router, there are several websites I cannot get to, including linuxquestions. I am posting this with my windows laptop. I cannot do an update with my linux box, all the repositories are blocked.
I have done all the standard stuff. Restarted gateway, restarted linux box, checked all IP addresses, etc.
Comcast does not support linux, or I would have asked them.
Any ideas?
