Best advice on updating to latest major version of OS
by sniper8752 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6FQXT)
I've got at least 2 Linux machines (raspberry pi and Ubuntu) that are running on an older version, and need to be updated to the latest version. Raspberry Pi is on debian 11, and Ubuntu is 20.04. I prefer LTS versions. I am really dreading having to start from a fresh clean install, but I heard that's the way to do it properly. On my Ubuntu machine, I've been trying to re-locate folder to a NAS NFS drive to make it easier, and for backup purposes. How do you go about doing major version updates? Any tools to make it easier, or tips and tricks you know of?
