The former New South Wales premier and foreign minister Bob Carr has confirmed his wife of 50 years has died in his arms, describing the heartbreaking moment her eyes closed for the last time.
Helena Carr, 77, was declared to be dead after losing consciousness as a result of a brain aneurism in the Austrian city of Vienna on Thursday night.
