UK weather: heavy showers could bring flooding to already soaked areas

Southern England, the Highlands and north-east of Scotland and Northern Ireland are likely to be affected

Heavy showers and strong winds over the weekend could bring flooding to already soaked parts of the UK, just a week after Storm Babet caused serious damage and several deaths.

Forecasters said areas in London and the south of England, the Highlands and north-east of Scotland and Northern Ireland were all expected to be hit with heavy rain over the next few days.
