Report: Patriots getting calls for Elliott, open to dealing Uche
Teams needing running back help have inquired about the availability of New England Patriots veteran Ezekiel Elliott ahead of the 4 p.m. ET trade deadline, sources told Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.
The Patriots are also open to dealing pass-rusher Josh Uche and have engaged in trade talks with teams, sources told Dan Graziano of ESPN.
Elliott has played behind Rhamondre Stevenson this season, producing 260 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 3.9 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Uche is set to hit free agency after this season. The linebacker had a career-high 11.5 sacks in 2022 and has two in six appearances this campaign.
New England could offload some veteran players following a disappointing 2-6 start to the season.
The three-time Pro Bowl running back signed a one-year deal with the Patriots in August after being released by the Dallas Cowboys.
Elliott burst onto the scene as a rookie in 2016, rushing for a career-best 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns. He spent the next six seasons in Dallas, racking up another three 1,000-yard campaigns.
