A new DX12 to Vulkan mod on the TechPowerUp forums aims to enable DX12-like capabilities on older Windows operating systems and older GPUs that don't support Microsoft's latest API. It reportedly also helps with performance in Alan Wake 2 on GPUs that don't support mesh shaders.
