How vulnerable is unencrypted swap?
by TheJooomes from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6G4ZX)
I'm mainly thinking about if my laptop gets stolen. The main worry is the thief copying my .mozilla and ssh keys to their computer and ruining my day. That can be prevented by encrypting my /home partition. But what about swap? I know that it's possible to read and exploit swapped out pages, but is that something a likely thief could do? Realistically speaking. I'm about as much of a target as any other normal civilian.
